Never Be Much

Lone Brethren

Every time I look at you
I marvel at the beautiful things you do
How you work 'til the evening's through
That driven look in your eyes of blue

Our little home out on the range
Far from city life, twisted and strange
The more things change, the more they stay the same

And we will never be much...

Maybe the better life has passed us by
Beholding it from outside eyes
It all depends how high you fly
The measuring stick you measure by

You send me to the clouds in the sky
A healthy share of life and humble pie
We never care when people ask us why...
